About Torsvag Havfiske

Torsvåg Havfiske is a 1 hour drive from Tromsø, located on the idyllic and serene Vannøy island. The area offers great opportunities for hiking in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. With almost no light pollution there are great spots to look out for the Northern Lights. Our unique location towards the open sea makes it perfect for reaching the best fishing spots.

The record for the largest halibut caught at our resort, which for a while was the standing world record, is 194 kg. In addition to the large size of halibuts caught nearby, our guests enjoy catching other Arctic species such as cod, haddock, saithe, redfish and wolf fish.

An experience for life

Traveled there on a work trip for 2 weeks. Do not care about fishing and hunting. But, after experiencing this amazing place, I understand why so many travel there. It is an elderado for fishermen and nature lovers. You simply forget that you’re at work and just take you all that’s around you!
